Milwaukie man arrested for DUII hit-and-run after police chase

A 28-year-old man, Fredy Sales Cardona, was arrested following a hit-and-run crash in Milwaukie, Oregon, on Saturday night. The incident occurred just after 9 p.m. when police were called to the scene of a two-car collision in the 6700 block of Southeast Harmony Road. Witnesses reported that the driver responsible for the crash had fled.
Responding officers quickly located Cardona's damaged vehicle at the intersection of Southeast Linwood Avenue and Southeast Harmony Road. As they pursued him, he fled in his car, continuing to evade capture until he collided with a parked vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot near Southeast Linwood Avenue.
With his car trapped, Cardona attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended shortly afterward by the officers. He was taken into custody and transported to the Clackamas County Jail.
Cardona now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), hit-and-run, and attempting to evade law enforcement. The incident highlights the dangers of impaired driving and the consequences of fleeing the scene of an accident.
