Man arrested in Provo after entering restaurant naked, 'flexing muscles aggressively'

PROVO, Utah (KUTV) -- Ralph Laurent, a 24-year-old man, has been charged after allegedly entering a restaurant entirely naked and carrying a firearm. The charges he faces include two counts of lewdness involving a child, categorized as class A misdemeanors, as well as a lewdness charge, which is classified as a class B misdemeanor, and an infraction for disorderly conduct.
On Saturday, Provo Police responded to reports about a naked man inside a restaurant. Witnesses described Laurent as "flexing muscles aggressively" and following patrons, raising concerns about his behavior. One witness noted that he was armed, prompting urgency in the police response.
Upon arrival, officers located Laurent in the middle of South State Street, still without clothing. He was taken into custody and placed in a patrol vehicle while remaining completely naked, according to an affidavit.
More than a dozen onlookers reportedly witnessed Laurent's antics both in the restaurant and at a nearby park, including two children. The affidavit detailed that the children and their father had seen him disrobing at Bicentennial Park, close to the restaurant.
The bizarre incident has raised significant safety concerns among the community, especially given the involvement of minors. As the legal proceedings unfold, the nature of the charges underscores the seriousness of the situation.
