ARLINGTON, Texas - A teenage girl was hospitalized after a shooting incident in Arlington early Saturday morning. Police responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Gaye Lane and Wilshire Boulevard around 2:50 AM and discovered a Nissan Altima crashed into a tree.

Upon arrival, officers found the teenage girl with a gunshot wound to her hand. Fortunately, her injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and she was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other individuals in the vehicle were not cooperative with the police, leaving many details of the incident unclear.

During the investigation, authorities arrested a teenage male passenger in the Altima for possession of marijuana, although he remains unnamed due to his juvenile status. A 19-year-old passenger, Alys Burton, was also apprehended on charges of public intoxication.

Police suspect that the occupants of the Altima may have been involved in a shootout with another group, as evidenced by damage to the vehicle's back window and numerous evidence markers at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement has not released information about the other individuals involved, particularly since multiple juveniles were present. Authorities suggest that additional charges may be forthcoming.
