Alabama Man Arrested for Attempted Home Invasion Near Newberry Road - Internewscast Journal

Antonio Montez Wilson, a 43-year-old from Alabama, was arrested in Gainesville, Florida, for allegedly attempting to break into a home located near Newberry Road. The incident was reported by the victim, whose daughter witnessed the suspect trying to access the house through a window in the backyard.
According to the victim, she heard noises near the side of the house and later discovered that the gate was slightly ajar when law enforcement arrived. Her daughter observed a man attempting to lift the slat of a jalousie window with his hands. After being spotted, the suspect fled from the scene, wearing a distinctive green camouflage jacket.
Upon being alerted, deputies quickly located and detained Wilson in the vicinity of West Newberry Road, as he matched the description provided by the witnesses. A search of the backyard yielded a smartphone that was not owned by the residents, further linking Wilson to the incident due to the phone number’s association with Alabama.
The victim and her daughter were brought to the location where Wilson was apprehended, and the daughter identified him as the individual she had seen trying to gain entry into their home. As a result of the identification and evidence gathered by the deputies, Wilson was charged with attempted burglary of an occupied residence.
Wilson, who has no known criminal history in the area, lists his address as Birmingham, Alabama. Judge Craig DeThomasis set his bail at $2,500 following the arrest.
