Police trying to identify thief who stole car from outside downtown bar

BATON ROUGE -- Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying a man connected to a car theft incident that occurred on March 14 outside a downtown bar.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reported that the suspect stole a woman's purse while she was inside a nightclub on 3rd Street. He then took the keys from her purse and drove off in her 2016 white Kia Soul.

In addition to the theft of the car, the suspect attempted to use credit cards he discovered in the woman's purse.

The police are urging anyone with information about the man's identity to come forward.
