Arrest warrant issued for man involved in shooting in Cañon City

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Cañon City man following an alleged shooting incident that occurred on March 29. Authorities responded after receiving reports of a person with a gunshot wound, prompting a multi-agency response including the local police department.
According to the Cañon City Police Department, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and indicated that the shooting took place at a residence on Main Street. Officers quickly arrived at the scene to investigate the situation further.
Efforts by officers and SWAT teams to make contact with the suspect in the residence were unsuccessful, as they later discovered the home was unoccupied. This led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Stephen Garrett.
Garrett is being sought on multiple charges, including 1st Degree Assault, Domestic Violence, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, and menacing. His whereabouts are currently unknown.
