An 18-year-old man from Nashville has been arrested for allegedly attempting to strike police officers with his vehicle, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD). This incident occurred while the suspect was deliberately driving toward an MJPD officer who was conducting a separate traffic stop.

Following the initial confrontation, the suspect led officers on two separate pursuits, during which he reportedly continued to target police vehicles. The situation escalated, prompting MJPD to request aerial assistance from the Metro Nashville Police Department's Aviation Unit, allowing officers to safely disengage from the high-speed chase.

The pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle was disabled using spike strips on Clarksville Highway near Old Hickory Boulevard. He was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.

Notably, MJPD indicated that this was not the first time the suspect's vehicle was involved in hostile actions toward law enforcement. Just days before, on March 17th, he had engaged in a similar confrontation with MJPD officers.

Now in custody at the Wilson County Jail, the suspect faces multiple charges, including attempted criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault on a first responder, felony evading, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving. MJPD expressed relief that no officers were injured during these dangerous incidents and thanked MNPD for their swift support in ensuring community safety.
