LMPD: Woman hit by stray bullets when cars were 'shooting at each other' in Fairdale

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A woman sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred on Sunday evening in Fairdale. Police received a report of the shooting around 8:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Glengarry Drive.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her legs. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The initial investigation by the Non-Fatal Shooting Unit indicated that two vehicles were exchanging gunfire in the area when the woman was struck by a stray bullet. Authorities clarified that she was not the intended target of the shooting.

Fortunately, her injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
