The offer has no verification mechanism, which gives it away. Lavrov moves technicians into Bushehr, Putin offers to "manage" Iran, and nobody defines what compliance looks like. The gap is the product. Ambiguity keeps bait alive, while terms provide the advantage.
Alternatively, we could have just stayed in the JCPOA, updated the agreement, and continued supporting Ukraine. Now, we'll have no verifiable inspections in Iran and Putin gets what he wants. Art of the Deal
What Trump wants depends on whether any meeting is before or after the election, no? If before, Trump wants political help. End to Iran war, social-media disinformation, help hacking vote-counting machines. If after, Trump wants $$. Business opportunities or bribes.

Putin wants to help the Republicans in the mid terms. If the Democrats win, they might impeach and remove Hegseth and rescue the US military from his mismanagement, and Democrats might block Trump's attempts to help Putin.
