Helder Floret assigned Pedro Emanuel the responsibility for the lineup of Vasco against Flamengo and criticized the decision to rest players. Although he said he liked the coach's work and that the team had not performed poorly collectively, he stated that the club's priority should be to avoid relegation, not the Copa do Brasil. Floret said that the chosen defense had never played together and that the defensive line showed little intensity. In his assessment, defensive errors decided the first half, while in the second half, Flamengo retreated and took advantage of individual quality to win the game. He also stated that it was up to the board to set limits on the coach's choices. The author compared the decision to points that, according to him, Vasco had already let slip against Remo and São Paulo for thinking about the Sudamericana. He said that a good result could boost morale for Sunday, but that the team would now enter the next game in a bad environment, after the enthusiasm generated by the victory over Corinthians had dissipated. Floret added that the clubs fighting against relegation were competing in the championship at the limit and criticized Vasco for entering a classic match with a mixed team. For him, the Brazilian Championship required seriousness and should not be risked in this way. #Vasco #Futebol #Brasileirão (translated)
