Steeds meer journalisten die de laatste jaren in het Brusselse zijn gaan wonen, voeren op hun sociale media een strijd tegen de luchthaven van Zaventem. Ze noemen het op hun sociale media onomwonden “geluidsterreur”, zoals @timverheyden (de man die eveneens ten strijd trekt “tegen polarisatie”, “fakenews” en “de gevaren van sociale media”). Dat past in het rijtje van dramatische termen die journalisten graag opwerpen, om zo uiteindelijk te doen alsof er een grote maatschappelijke consensus rond bestaat. Want je moet toch wel iets doen tegen terreur zeker? Weinig verrassend waren er het laatste jaar dan ook veel reportages, waarin de boodschap van actiegroepen tégen de luchthaven luid klonk. Wat verwacht je als journalisten er zelf deel van uitmaken of een grote persoonlijke sympathie voor koesteren? Net zoals de quasi publi-reportages voor extinction rebellion en co. De luchthaven is van economisch levensbelang. Het is ontzettend dwaas dat de Vlaamse overheid er 2 miljard euro aan heeft verbrast. Het is nog dwazer hoe een kleine maar vocaal sterke groep met actieve steun van een deel van de media ze weg wil. #Zaventem #Geluidsoverlast #Mediawijsheid
