Al mismo tiempo, esto no borra tres décadas de fracaso institucional: investigaciones lentas, especulación mediática y un sistema que demasiadas veces ha fallado en proteger a artistas, especialmente a artistas negros, y en dar respuestas claras a las comunidades afectadas. Celebro que haya rendición de cuentas en este caso concreto, pero no debemos conformarnos. Que se aclare un hecho tan simbólico debería servir como llamado a abordar las causas estructurales que permiten la violencia: el acceso desenfrenado a armas, la desigualdad, la criminalización de la juventud negra y la falta de inversión en oportunidades reales. También exige mayor transparencia en las investigaciones y reformas en el sistema de justicia para que las familias no esperen décadas por respuestas.
