Portugal in a Bottle of Wine 🇵🇹🍷 Portugal knows how to surprise. Not only with its history of the great Age of Discoveries, azulejos, fado, or the poetry of Camões. It can also capture, in a single bottle, the character and flavour of a place that at first glance might seem quite unremarkable. One such place is Fernando Pó, on the Setúbal Peninsula, where Casa Ermelinda Freitas has been producing wine for more than a century. And since I am a great admirer of Portugal—and, more recently, have become increasingly interested in Portuguese wines—I decided to take a closer look at this remarkable family winery.
