The Dem’s Trump 1.0 mistake was treating politics like a game of intrigue. It played out great for overly-informed media nerds but had no actual impact on anything that matters. This time around we have people that really ransacked the place.

This isn’t a Manafort/Michael Cohen situation, either. Those were flunkies but at the end of the day they had little power. The Dems need a plan to start walking up people like Big Balls and everyone involved in bringing him into government to make sure they can never get in any room that matters

It’s probably strategically smart for dems to not talk too much about retribution or whatever, as long as they have a plan for actually seeking justice. But it’ll be a huge failure if they just focus on Trump and let his henchmen slide.

but that's only the vertical component. So much more than that, actually.

To do 27000 feet in 60 seconds. I am thinking somewhere in the area of 300-310 miles per hour. The Video I saw from time I saw it, to impact was maybe a tenth of a second.

What we know from the captured ATC audio and ADAS-B tracks is that the jet was flying through some moderate turbulence. Moderate here is not a simple adjective, in this case it means turbulence with up to ±0.5g. Aircraft are designed to withstand this and there is nothing unusual about it.

Aeroelasticity is the study of the interaction between fluids (namely, air) and structures—usually parts of aircraft, but also bridges, buildings, wind turbines, etc. Aeroservoelasticity is specific to the moving control surfaces of a flight vehicle: the ailerons, elevators, rudders, trim tabs, etc.

not much, tbh

Off topic, but omg you're a fellow RPI alum! Did you also have any connection to STS while you were there?

Sigh, ok, I'm seeing a lot of noise about this Learjet crash, so here's my non-insider, but somewhat informed thoughts about what might have happened. For context, I studied aeronautical engineering at RPI and also worked in aeroservoelasticity research for several years.

I’m aware that there is a Bolsonaro cloning facility, and hopefully it will be located and shut down, as well.

Emily Gorcenski @emily.gorcen.ski · 1w

Lula wins, now we just need Bolsonaro to die in prison. Which one, you ask? Yes.
