Slovakia is unique in that 82% of its drinking water comes from underground sources. This water is of high quality and clean. It does not require as complicated treatment as surface water. However, we have a problem with enormous losses in the network, with up to 30% of water disappearing through leaky pipes. Another shocking figure is that more than 400 municipalities are not connected to the water supply. The situation is even worse with sewage. Only 71% of residents are connected to sewage systems. In comparison, in the Czech Republic, it is 87%. I am interested in this topic because I live in a city where large parts are not connected to the water supply and sewage. This year, many of my neighbors were left without water. No one offered them a helping hand. They had to cope with this problem on their own. We are a country in the most developed part of the world, and yet there are people living here without access to drinking water and without state support for its provision. Is there anyone who is addressing this issue? I would like to learn more about this topic. (translated)
