9. Chanakya (371 – 283 BCE) <p>Chanakya or Vishnu Gupta or Kautilya was the teacher of Chandragupta Maurya. He served as a minister in the court of Chandragupta and Bindusara. He authored the ancient Indian political treatise called Arthasastra. Chanakya is considered as the pioneer of the field of economics and political science and his work is thought of as an important precursor to Classical Economics. Chanakya’s works predate Machiavelli’s by about 1,800 years. Chanakya was a teacher in <a href="https://www.themysteriousindia.net/takshashila-worlds-oldest-university/">Takshashila </a>, an ancient centre of learning. </p>

Monuments that mark the equinoxes <p>There are many monuments that mark the equinoxes such as the Mayan Temple in Chichen, Itza in Mexico. This temple is also known as the Temple of Kukulcan and was dedicated to a serpent god.</p> <p>Another monument is the Hindu Temple Complex Angkor Wat in Cambodia wherein the sun rises directly above its central temple. It's one of the largest religious monuments in the world as was built between AD 1113 and 1150.</p>

Failure In The Meritocratic Society <p>A meritocratic society is one in which, <strong>if you've got talent and energy, and skill, you will get to the top, nothing should hold you back.</strong> The problem is, if you believe in this system, you'll also believe in a society where <strong>those who deserve to get to the bottom also get to the bottom and stay there. </strong></p><p>So, your position in life comes to seem not accidental but merited and deserved.<strong> And that makes failure seem much more crushing. </strong></p>

The Experience <p>We asked participants in the US to anonymously describe their own experiences of feeling each of these negative emotions, either toward an individual or a group. </p><p>They rated the emotional intensity and duration of each experience, how threatening they perceived the individual or group to be, and other dimensions of the experience. </p><p>Under the condition of anonymity, most people openly described individuals and groups they hate – often with a cathartic level of detail – suggesting that experiencing hate is more frequent in people’s lives than we might imagine.</p>
