„Starshield ist ein Vertrag mit dem US-Militär. Das hat mit der Ukraine nichts zu tun. Ich weiß, dass die Ukraine Zugang zu Starshield will. Sie hat Starshield jetzt nicht. Sie hat Zugang beantragt, um tief in Russland zuzuschlagen.“ So erklärte es US-Außenminister Marco Rubio vor Journalisten auf einem Flughafen. Rubio stellt es so dar, als hätte die Ukraine dieses System nie gehabt. Als würde sie bislang nur anklopfen. Ja, ich habe derzeit auch kein Starshield. Mir hat es diese Woche allerdings auch niemand gedrosselt. Die Ukraine hatte Starshield. Noch vorige Woche lief es ungebremst. Dann wurde es auf 160 km/h gedrosselt, zu langsam für die Abfangdrohnen gegen russische Jet-Drohnen. Rubio redet mit den Journalisten, als seien sie ein bissl hinterm Mond. Er erklärt, ja, Starlink, das zivile Produkt, da sei die Geschwindigkeit eben irgendwie gesunken, „it sort of happened“, inzwischen sei alles wieder wie vorher. Aber: Starlink war für normale Kunden nie schneller als 160 km/h. Starshield schon. Und genau auf diese 160 km/h wurde Starshield heruntergedrosselt, dort steht es laut ukrainischem Verteidigungsministerium bis heute. Wer also hat eigentlich das System gedrosselt, das die Ukraine angeblich nie hatte? Und warum tut Rubio so, als könne sich die Ukraine den Status quo von voriger Woche erst mal in die Haare schmieren? #Ukraine #Starshield #USMilitär

When I originally posted that Elon Musk slowed StarLink and StarShield service to Ukraine, seriously eroding Ukraine's ability to intercept Russian jet-powered drone and missile attacks on civilians, various responders tried to lecture me that "Musk cannot throttle StarShiled." He did. 1/2
