Superb point. Where the Brexiters failed is in durable consent. Who benefits from it their project & wants to carry it forward? Who in the next generations are thanking them for Brexit and championing it? No-one. If we get the UK into EU membership, it must be underpinned by durable consent.
Thanks to the 111K people who signed the govt petition earlier this year about UK applying to join the EU. And to the ~30K people who wrote to their MPs over the last few weeks to ask them to attend. It was a fantastic Westminster debate - respect to all the MPs who spoke. 👏
