Every White man in Virginia needs to know that this government hates you. Democrats in Richmond just passed a bill to explicitly discriminate against White men in government contracting. For discretionary contracts under $200K, state agencies are allowed to bar White men from even being considered at all. And in all other <$200K contracts where White men aren't barred from competing, agencies are still allowed to award them to women or minority-owned businesses that are 5% more expensive than a bid from a business owned by a White man. The original version of the bill set the threshold at under $100K and included a clause allowing White men to compete if there was no competition or if only one firm submitted a bid. Democrats eliminated this language from the final bill. -
