Pablo Iglesias stated that Compromís, Podemos, Izquierda Unida, and ERC, among other parties, had agreed to run together in the elections in the Valencian Community. He noted that the coalition would not be called Frente Amplio and contrasted the agreement with the situation in Catalonia, where ERC competed with that formation while Podemos supported it and, as he wrote, would integrate into its lists. Iglesias said that the coalitions in the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community were also not called Frente Amplio or Sumar, as was the case, according to him, in the Balearic Islands and Aragón. He asserted that similar agreements could be reached in other territories and that plurinationality and the left complicated these alliances. He also criticized the position of those who, as he wrote, conditioned agreements in other territories on Podemos integrating into a coalition in Madrid. He stated that an agreement in all territories except Madrid would not imply an electoral penalty and that there the left-wing electorate could choose between the candidacies of Delgado and Colau or those of Montero and Rufián. Iglesias argued that Podemos and MM-FA could have run together in Madrid through primaries, but claimed that someone did not want that option. He added that agreements without primaries could be reasonable in places where the electoral system penalized division, although they were not essential in Madrid. Finally, he urged those who, in his opinion, impeded agreements like those in the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community to rectify and negotiate with Podemos in Andalusia, Galicia, Asturias, Murcia, the Basque Country, Castile, and La Rioja. https://t.co/liVgAhAk6Q #PaísValencià #Coalición #Izquierda (translated)
