We spend so much time asking children what they scored. Perhaps we should spend more time asking: What did you learn? What challenged you? How did you grow? The qualities that impress me most are rarely found on a report card... although I have worked with students who achieved top ranks, exceptional ATAR/GPA/Band results and outstanding academic outcomes. Qualities that a learner should have are... Curiosity. Resilience. Integrity. The courage to keep learning. Those are the traits that create meaningful lives.
