Statens indtægt er stort set forsvundet på grund af de ofte afgiftsfrie elbiler, så det koster nærmest ingenting, at fjerne afgiften helt - for alle biler. Fordelen vil være en massiv lettelse i bureaukratiet i både staten og for mange virksomheder samt øget salg og momsindtægter af gode, moderne, sikre og miljøvenlige biler. Statens provenue er nu så lille at det bestemt er muligt, at der vil være et økonomisk plus i sparede lønudgifter, bureaukrati og positive effekter af mere sikre biler med højere momsgrundlag.
