E se collemos tamén os xornais da época e os “actualizamos”? E quizais tamén poderiamos facer un rebranding dos anuncios daquela época, para que as nosas neuronas non teñan que traballar demasiado, coma se estivésemos nun escape room. Por que parar aquí? Tamén poderiamos actualizar os libros de historia e escribir que Arquímedes de Siracusa foi asasinado por un soldado romano mentres facía matemáticas na súa tableta. A idea básica segue sendo a mesma, non? Só desaparece a época. E outra cousa: por que os matemáticos non “actualizan” a Pitágoras? Poden cambiar a notación. Poden explicar a demostración doutro xeito. Mesmo poden construír o debuxo online cunha animación que aparece diante dos ollos dos alumnos. Pero o teorema de Pitágoras segue sendo o teorema de Pitágoras. Entón, cando lemos un autor antigo, por que non conservar tamén a lingua da súa época — e poñer as explicacións modernas en notas?
