New information indicates that the knifed captain is the Indian Smit Machchhar, an experienced pilot who is said to have made a heroic effort. Despite being stabbed multiple times, he is said to have resisted while cabin crew and passengers intervened. There is still no information about his injuries or condition. The co-pilot, the man suspected of stabbing the captain and attempting to crash the plane, is from Oman. He is said to have worked for Flydubai for less than a year. The two pilots who then took over the plane were traveling as passengers on duty for Flydubai, which the company has confirmed. They were likely on their way to Tel Aviv to then staff another flight. The three pilots who stopped the disaster are hailed as heroes, as are the passengers and crew members who intervened. About 180 people were on the plane. #hjältar #Flydubai #flygning (translated)
