Americký vojenský C-17 Globemaster III (07-7181, callsign REACH 4555) letěl přes Rigu na moskevské Vnukovo. V Moskvě strávil několik hodin a poté se vrátil do Rigy. A zajímavý detail: podle veřejných letových dat Ratcliffe zřejmě přiletěl z USA do Rigy menším C-40B a tam přesedl do obrovského C-17, který měl navíc jen velmi nenápadné označení. Plan je bil, da se s peticijo začne takoj zatem, ko bi predsednik DZ dal to točko na dnevni red. Tako naj bi sprožili negativen odziv javnosti in pritisk na poslance pred glasovanjem. Takrat Brejc še ni imel zveze s tem. Ko se je po prometni nesreči predsednice začel pojavljati Jeglič, je Brejc prosil Svobodo, SD in Levico, če se lahko vključi v zgodbo. Želel je namreč, da javnost ne gre v globino pri predsednici, zgolj zaradi Jegliča, zato je potreboval takojšnjo preusmeritev pozornosti. Razlog je odtujeni kovček mikrofilmov z maso pomembnih tajnih dokumentov, o katerem Brejc in Jeglič vesta vse ;).
