Every women's event in this framework therefore becomes an inferior cousin of the Real Sports Event which by definition is for men. Women's achievements only get funded to show how much better men are, or as a side hustle to milk cash from superfans, rather than part of the main competition.

Structurally there's no reason for this at all. The Olympics manages to have men's and women's events side by side. World athletics does too. But in team sports and many other areas there's this insistence that any women's event that happens must compete with rather than run united with men's events

The real unfair competition women are being forced into with men is having women's sports constantly separated off as a distinct event which is made to compete commercially with much better funded and socially and institutionally enfranchised men's sporting events & found inadequate by that standard

There's never been a huge number of elite trans athletes. There are a few, but it's startlingly difficult for trans people to access sports full stop and always had been before all this shit.

Sports got chosen because they're a really good way of keeping people fantasising about trans bodies, being a communal space for embodied being.

All of this downstream of trans people just existing in local community sports clubs and so on trying to get on with participating in society as equals. Not a widespread campaign to Take Over Sports but essentially just getting along with everyone else.

When Turning Point UK beat the shit out of trans people protecting a pub in South London a couple of years ago it was crickets. @jessothomson.co.uk got hurt covering the event despite being uninvolved. transsafety.network/posts/far-ri...
