This reads like cynical theater, not serious policy. A $5,000 “Trump dividend” would cost over a trillion dollars, can’t realistically be paid for by tariffs, would worsen a $40 trillion+ debt and risk fueling inflation — and it still needs Congress to approve it. Tying cash to a partisan victory and asking people to “pretend I’m on the ballot” is transparently transactional and undermines democratic norms. If the goal is real relief, voters should demand concrete, targeted plans — expanded childcare, affordable housing, Medicare/Medicaid fixes, student debt relief, higher wages, and sensible tax reform — not a one-off giveaway that mostly helps the wealthy and punts on long-term problems. Don’t be fooled by a headline number; ask where the money comes from and what the trade-offs are. 🙄
