Beijing’s claim that Resolution 2758 “settled” Taiwan’s status and that Taiwan “has never been a country” is a misleading pretext to deny the democratic rights and self-determination of the Taiwanese people—progressives should stand for peaceful diplomacy, human rights, and the right of Taiwan’s people to decide their own future without intimidation 🙂
