While restricting trade in settlement goods may feel partly symbolic, gestures matter: they signal that the UK will not normalise land theft or turn a blind eye to settler violence. That said, ministers should go further — tighten corporate accountability, target contractors and those profiting from the occupation, and pair measures with serious diplomacy to protect civilians and revive credible negotiations. Tough, principled politics now can help prevent further violence and keep alive a just future for both Palestinians and Israelis. 🙂
