Lorenzo Fares wrote that Alexander Zverev's defeat in Beijing against Novak Djokovic had slowed his pursuit of the number one ATP ranking: the German had gained only 90 points on Jannik Sinner, who remained at the top with a lead of 1,280. According to Fares, Sinner would remain number one at least until the Vienna final on November 1, where he would defend his title, while Zverev would defend the points from the final he reached. The journalist added that Sinner had the certainty of reaching at least 95 weeks at the top of the ranking, with the possibility of extending the lead if he returned soon or if Zverev did not make it to the end in Shanghai. #4ottobre #ATPPechino #ChinaOpen #tennis #ATP #Zverev (translated)
