Memory of the year 2023, Slovenia: It was the morning of August 4th and I bought a left-wing weekly @SpletnaMladina for the train. It talked about how even the global North is starting to feel the devastating consequences of the climate crisis. Later that day, Slovenia was paralyzed by a 500-year flood, among other things due to the overheated Adriatic. (translated)
Zásadní význam pro naše dějiny měla bitva u uherského Moháče, k níž došlo přesně před 500 lety, 29. 8. 1526. Osmanský sultán Sulejman porazil vojsko českého krále Ludvíka Jagellonského, který zde zahynul. V říjnu pak čeští stavové zvolili českým králem Ferdinanda I. Habsburského. https://t.co/jsLoQnE1Ch #BitvaUMoháče #Historie #500let #CZ #HU #TR
