Radim Ivan stated that local STAN accounts accused him of lying after he wrote that the Ostrava STAN supported the ANO candidate for the Senate, Ondřej Šimetka, by ceding advertising space. According to him, he did not contest the official support of STAN, but criticized that on spaces that previously belonged to the Christian Democrats who are running independently in Poruba, Šimetka now hangs. Ivan wrote that he received no offer of advertising space or expression of support for the opposition candidate from either the Ostrava STAN or its leader Boháč. He claimed he was told that there was no option other than cooperation with ANO. According to him, STAN had repeatedly pointed this out to Boháč and others and is still waiting for a statement from the regional chairwoman of STAN, Šebelová. He added that if a coalition were formed in the city without ANO, there would be a 99% probability he would lose his position as deputy mayor because, in the southern district, such a coalition is apparently not possible. He marked the situation in Havířov as another problem for which their party rightly faces criticism; he stated they want to address it at the level of regional leadership and that he asked Christian Democratic leader Jan Grolich to also engage with it. He identified the main goal as shifting the Ostrava agglomeration towards a modern European metropolis. According to him, coalitions of parties that are now in opposition could have arisen in Opava, Frýdek-Místek, Ostrava, and Havířov, thus balancing the relationships in the region. Instead, he says there is a danger of further fragmentation and prioritization of partial interests. #politika #Ostrava #koalice (translated)
