The organization for the defense of freedom of speech stated that Defense Minister Jaromír Zůna ordered a personnel change regarding the commander of cyber forces Radek Haratka. According to them, Haratka's subordinates likely exceeded the legal mission of the army by unlawfully processing the names of social media users and monitoring their attitudes toward the Ministry of Defense, its representatives, military officials, and the war in Ukraine. The organization wrote that according to the minister's order, the army should no longer gather information about social media users. It linked the case to the projects Karel and Elections 2025 and noted that although the Military Police did not initiate criminal proceedings, it pointed out possible violations of military regulations. The organization also claimed that the public had been waiting for over a year for the case to be investigated. The Chief of the General Staff Miroslav Hlaváč reportedly refused to dismiss Haratka and expressed confidence in him. The organization further reminded that activists from the Shield of Democracy Máca, Ludwig, and Pášma labeled Haratka's work at the helm of the Command of Information and Cyber Forces as a fight against disinformation. The post asked whether the new Chief of the General Staff rejected fulfilling the minister's directives and whether the cyber forces continued to seek alleged disinformation in contradiction to the government's program statement. The organization also stated that the previous chief was Karel Řehka, who, according to them, might have covered up the case, and expressed concern that a military junta might try to seize power in the state. #KybernetickéSily #ArmádaČR #Dezinformace (translated)
