[NEWS] Netflix will livestream #BTS’s comeback concert and deliver it to ARMY around the world. The highly anticipated BTS comeback performance will be broadcast live on Netflix. Netflix and HYBE announced that on March 21 at 8:00 PM (KST), Netflix will exclusively livestream “BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG.” The concert will take place at Gwanghwamun Square, one of Seoul’s most iconic locations, timed with the release of BTS’s much-anticipated new album ARIRANG. For this historic comeback stage, Netflix and HYBE decided to collaborate. The concert will be livestreamed to viewers in more than 190 countries via Netflix. — A feature-length Netflix documentary titled BTS: The Return will also be released on March 27. Directed by Bao Nguyen known for Stringer: Who Took That Photo and The Greatest Night in Pop and produced by This Machine (which produced Masha and Karol G: Tomorrow Was Beautiful), the documentary chronicles BTS’s journey back with a new album after a 3-year-and-9-month hiatus. BTS: The Return offers an intimate look at the group’s comeback journey. It captures BTS reuniting in Los Angeles to make music, showing how the globally successful group since debuting in 2013 returns to a shared creative space after time apart and personal change. The documentary vividly portrays the members confronting questions such as “How do we begin again?” and “How do we honor the past without being bound by it as we move forward?” As global listeners await what is being called the comeback of the era, BTS: The Return follows the members as they channel their present selves into new music—an intimate and moving story that only BTS can tell. The globally livestreamed “BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG” also demonstrates Netflix’s expansion into live programming. This comeback concert will be Netflix’s first live event broadcast from Korea to the world. It follows Netflix’s growing slate of live events, including Skyscraper Live, Star Search, Jake vs. Joshua, WWE Raw, NFL Christmas Gameday, Paul vs. Tyson, Canelo vs. Crawford, and Six Kings Slam. Going forward, Netflix plans to offer members an even broader lineup of live events, including MLB, the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards. -
