Modern leftism can be associated with feelings of inferiority, low self-esteem, powerlessness, guilt, self-hatred, and resentment. These feelings may be repressed while still influencing behavior. The hypersensitivity to language illustrates this. Words once used without negative intent can become symbols of oppression through activist campaigns. Ironically, those most offended are sometimes privileged academics rather than the minorities they claim to defend. Many leftists identify with groups perceived as weak or disadvantaged. This may reflect genuine compassion, but it can also involve projecting personal feelings of weakness onto others. Strength, success, competition, and rationality can consequently become objects of suspicion. Western civilization, America, and other symbols of power may be treated similarly. The criticism can also be inconsistent. Flaws condemned in Western societies may be excused when found in socialist regimes or traditional cultures. This suggests that resentment may sometimes play a role alongside genuine moral concerns. Self-reliance, personal responsibility, and merit are often viewed skeptically, while collectivism is favored. Objective truth can also become threatening because it creates distinctions: some arguments are better than others, and some people succeed while others fail. When equality of outcome becomes the moral standard, truth, merit, and individualism may be attacked—not necessarily to uplift the oppressed, but to reduce psychological discomfort. When victimhood becomes central to identity, problems may no longer simply be discovered; they can become necessary to sustain that identity.

Staden är i princip ockuperad och myndigheterna står helt handfallna, men det absolut bästa är hur den här politiska humorshowen regisserades. Först klev den socialistiske premiärministern ut och bjöd på en massiv amnesti med uppehållstillstånd till alla illegala i hela landet, varpå Högsta domstolen fyllde på med det briljanta beslutet att alla som "tar sig in via vattnet" minsann inte får avvisas. Man måste ändå beundra nivån på det här hantverket. Om man ville montera ned en hel kontinent på beställning så hade man ju inte kunnat regissera det bättre själv. Steg ett: lova alla i hela världen amnesti om de bara tar sig in. Steg två: gör det olagligt för polisen att stoppa dem när de väl dyker upp på stranden. Steg tre: låt Schengen göra jobbet så att alla kan resa helt fritt vidare rakt in i resten av Europa utan gränskontroller. Det är en så uppenbar politisk teater att man nästan måste skratta för att inte bli galen på vad det är för folk som styr den här kontinenten. Det enda lilla ljuset i allt detta vansinne är att Italiens Meloni nu ryter ifrån och vill stoppa Schengen helt på grund av Spaniens ansvarslösa galenskaper. Vänsterregeringen i Spanien ville rasera gränserna mot omvärlden, och resultatet blev att idén om att stänga gränserna mot Spanien helt plötsligt är det enda logiska som återstår.
