"To say that Margaret Hamilton was a pioneer and that she was ahead of her time would be a dramatic understatement. She was a software engineer at a time when the field was just being born, and not only did she develop advanced code herself, but she also led a team that utilized this emerging technology to develop one of the most complex systems ever created by mankind," said Olivier de Weck, a professor in the Apollo program and head of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. #MargaretHamiltonová #Apollo11 #SoftwarovéInženýrství (translated)

"I fought for software to gain legitimacy, so that it and those who create it would receive the proper respect. That is why I began to use the term 'software engineering' to distinguish it from hardware and other types of engineering, while still considering every type of engineering as part of the overall process of systems engineering," Hamilton said in an interview with El País in 2018. #MargaretHamiltonová #Apollo11 #SoftwarovéInženýrství (translated)
