In the face of cuts to aid and the rollback of rights, how can we act for equity in health? Three researchers call for sharing power and transforming solidarity into action. Two defined concepts and examples of concrete actions for those who produce or relay knowledge in health. Under fire, unyielding: tripling down on public accountability and intersectional solidarity for global health equity. Muriel Mac-Seing (University of Montreal, Centre for Public Health Research), Charity Oga-Omenka (University of Waterloo, McGill International TB Centre, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria), Joanne Liu (University of Montreal, McGill University, PEARL) (p. 3). It gathers, with their references, observations on cuts to global health funding by 2025 (p. 3). It proposes three calls to action and examples of concrete actions (pp. 4-5). The authors address researchers, global health practitioners, and humanitarian workers, "but first" to citizens (p. 4).
