The stumbling stones remind us that behind every name in brass was a real life, home, family, and dreams. This week we returned the names of Gisele, Else, and Vilém Holzer back to the Prague sidewalk from which they were forcefully taken. Prague does not forget its inhabitants. (translated)
Today, Eva Erbenová, who survived Terezín, Auschwitz, and the death march, returned to her parents' house, Marta and Jindřich Löwidt, who were murdered during the Holocaust, after more than eighty years to lay stolpersteine in their memory. She was not just standing there as a daughter who came to remember. (translated)
