Asta Vrečko wrote that the sculpture behind the president of the National Assembly and the Truth in the Basilica of St. Peter in the Vatican does not depict Emperor Constantine, but rather Charlemagne. According to her, this is one of the more well-known depictions of Charlemagne and the most famous work of the Italian sculptor Agostino Cornacchini from 1725. She added that apparently the facts were not an obstacle for a good quote, and remarked that some general knowledge of art history would not hurt. She contrasted her theoretical approach with her interlocutor's practical experience. #umetnost #zgodovina #KarelVeliki (translated)

Marcelina Zawisza explains Szczerba and Joński: "I remember the secret meeting when Jarosław Kaczyński spoke about the threat. At that time, we had two such MPs, who are very well known in Poland, Joński and Szczerba, who 5 seconds after that SECRET meeting were running around, mocking Kaczyński, saying that he was fantasizing... I would like everyone to take this matter seriously." Some simply have not matured to serious politics. #Polityka #Kaczyński #Zgromadzenie (translated)

The statement of the Board of @wislakrakowsa 🔵⚪️🔴 (that is, mine) Today, TS Wisła Kraków S.A. will reach out to @LegiaWarszawa and the appropriate bodies of PZPN and Ekstraklasa S.A. for comprehensive explanations regarding the refusal to accept an organized group of our fans at the match on October 11, 2026 - in light of the licensing regulations, competition rules, and the resolution regarding the participation of away fans in football matches. The letter we received is not particularly surprising to us. We would also like to learn more about the activities of the Green Board of the city of Warsaw and about Legia Warsaw's cooperation with the Police and other services on security matters. The world is changing today in an extremely dynamic way, and effective action requires flexibility and problem-solving skills. At a time when work is underway to send rockets to Mars, we believe that together with PZPN, Ekstraklasa, and both clubs, it will be possible within 11 days to install a net, a goal, and several cameras – thereby overcoming the difficulties that fate has placed before us. As Wisła Kraków, we stand by the position that the presence of away fans is of significant importance - it affects competition on the field, and ensuring it is a matter of fair play and common decency. That is why we made sure that during the match of the Conference League organized by us in Kraków between Shakhtar Donetsk and Legia Warsaw, around 1,500 to 2,000 fans of Legia could take their seats in the stands. The meeting had a special nature due to the tensions related to Polish-Ukrainian relations. Nevertheless, it took place in a fantastic atmosphere. (By the way: it is rare to encounter fans who hug each other as often as Legia Warsaw fans do - before the match, during it, and after the final whistle - which probably also improved the atmosphere). It is significant that in a country that has fought for freedom for so many years, today it is taken away from others - in this case, from fans who simply want to watch their team play. This is neither particularly patriotic nor especially wise. Our response will depend on the content of the explanations received. We consider both leaving the matter without further action and the radical steps we are known for. We respect the authorities of other clubs (okay, with a few exceptions), so we will patiently wait for a response. Respect for the rest of the week.
