Heb je haar ook gevraagd hoe het toch komt dat @amnestynl in de volksmond inmiddels ‘Antisemitism International’ wordt genoemd? Want laten we niet net doen alsof we hier te maken hebben met een organisatie die neutraliteit hoog in het vaandel heeft staan, zeker niet waar het Israël betreft. Of heeft ze je niet verteld over het grootste wapenfeit van haar organisatie? Waarschijnlijk niet, en dat verbaast mij niets want erg sjiek is het herschrijven van de definitie van ‘genocide’ in haar rapporten niet als de insteek daarvan is om Israël een genocide aan te kunnen wrijven. En dat zeg ik niet omdat kritiek op Israël taboe zou zijn, dat is het niet en is het ook nooit geweest, maar omdat het herschrijven van een definitie betekent dat ideologie leidend is bij Amnesty en dat men daarmee dus feiten ondergeschikt heeft gemaakt aan een gewenst narratief: Israël pleegt genocide, punt. Ratio maakt dan letterlijk plaats voor morele zelfbevrediging. Als je zo hoog opgeeft over de internationale rechtsorde, Rob, zou dat je toch tegen de borst moeten stuiten? Een land wat letterlijk vecht voor haar voortbestaan, wordt beschuldigd van een genocide waar haar tegenstander, Hamas, haar bestaansrecht uit haalt, het staat letterlijk zo omschreven in het handvest van Hamas: de vernietiging van de Joodse staat en haar inwoners. Maar datzelfde Hamas en diezelfde Palestijnen worden door Amnesty op handen gedragen? Eén ding is daarmee glas- en glashelder, Rob. Nederland heeft al decennialang de fout gemaakt om morele autoriteit uit te besteden aan organisaties, goede doelen, die hun eigen morele kompas allang hebben ingeruild voor politieke stellingname. Heb je Dagmar daarover bevraagd? Nee hè? Dat verbaast me niets, want je bent er simpelweg niet mans genoeg voor, toch? #Israël #Amnesty #Genocide
