I want to confirm the creation of the first tourism academy of the European Union. This will also benefit SMEs and the tourism ecosystem of the countries in the bloc. This was confirmed on Friday by the European Commissioner for Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, during the global summit of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) being held in Valletta (Malta), in a context marked by the need to strengthen European tourism competitiveness. Vacant positions and the lack of skills are one of the biggest challenges facing the sector today. We want a better balance of visits between places and throughout the year. Tzitzikostas warned about the concentration of travel during certain periods and argued for the need to promote lesser-known destinations, encourage off-season travel, and favor longer stays. Resilience is not just about quickly recovering from impacts or crises. It is also about being able to absorb them. Tzitzikostas warned that the sector must prepare to face risks such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, trade uncertainty, and the shortage of professionals. #TurismoEU #AcademiaTurística #CompetitividadEuropea (translated)

David Alandete pointed out that The Washington Post reported that Juan González, former senior advisor to Joe Biden for Latin America at the National Security Council, had traveled to Venezuela to gather information related to his consulting activities. According to the newspaper, these trips were framed within the arrival of former U.S. officials seeking professional and business opportunities following Maduro's capture. Among them, Alandete noted, was Michael Jensen, who moved from directing Latin American policy at the White House during the Trump administration to working for an energy company with deals with PDVSA. He also mentioned Mike Pompeo, involved along with other former officials in an operation to export Venezuelan fertilizers to the United States. https://t.co/vcvdHavMsL #Venezuela #Política #EEUU (translated)

Abelardo De La Espriella stated that the Army and the Police captured Diana Milena Agudelo Salazar, alias “La Morocha,” along with two members of her security team in Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá, and seized a pistol and a shotgun. He pointed out that she was the leader of the Rodrigo Cadete structure, which he described as narcoterrorist, and said that her role was to raise criminal resources and pressure the civilian population. He added that she had three arrest warrants for aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and offenses related to weapons, ammunition, and explosives. De La Espriella also attributed to her forced recruitment of minors, drug trafficking, extortion, murder, kidnapping, and forced displacement. He maintained that she had promoted the expansion of illicit crops and the displacement of six people, five of them minors, who were later rescued by the Army. He described the capture as a blow to the command and finances of the structure, congratulated the military and police, and called for the pursuit of the other members.
