Een universiteit hoort religieuze teksten niet kritiekloos als symbool van inclusiviteit te presenteren wanneer delen ervan rechtstreeks botsen met de principes van individuele vrijheid, gelijkheid en mensenrechten. En nee, de Katholieke Universiteit Leuven hoeft niet ‘neutraal’ te zijn. Het is een katholieke universiteit. Ze mag katholiek zijn. Ze mag haar christelijke identiteit uitdragen. Daar is niets mis mee. Wat wél beschamend is, is dat een universiteit met zo’n eeuwenoude christelijke geschiedenis haar eigen identiteit steeds verder lijkt te relativeren en vervolgens de Koran als teken van inclusiviteit naar voren schuift. Europa heeft een christelijke culturele erfenis. Die hoeven we niet weg te verstoppen om inclusief te zijn. Tolerantie betekent niet dat je alles kritiekloos moet aanvaarden. Inclusiviteit betekent niet dat je je eigen identiteit moet uitwissen. En respect voor andere religies betekent niet dat je moet zwijgen over ideeën die fundamenteel botsen met onze waarden. Wie voortdurend zijn eigen cultuur relativeert, creëert ruimte voor anderen om haar te veranderen. Dit is geen vooruitgang. Om de neutraliteit kracht bij te zetten, is het gezicht van het platform niemand minder dan ... Jo Vandeurzen. Waarbij er ook nog eens naar "de enige betrouwbare bronnen" wordt gewezen. Toevallig allemaal ook ons-kent-ons gesubsidieerde organisaites. (De claims van "het instituut Gezond Leven" zijn bijvoorbeeld alles behalve neutraal en op veel vlakken, bijvoorbeeld als het over vlees gaat, puur ideologisch gedreven). Intussen is het aantal afzonderlijke factcheck platforms niet meer te overzien. Ze krijgen elk net genoeg subsidies voor een stevig personeelsbestand. Het afzonderlijk bereik is telkens nihil. Wie heeft hier in godsnaam nog iets aan? Ook Factcheck-Vlaanderen werkt bijvoorbeeld samen met dit platform. Maar dan weer met subsidies van de Koning Boudewijn Stichting (hoeveel juist weet ik voorlopig niet). Bij Factcheck Vlaanderen werken dan journalisten van VRT Check (nog een ander factcheck-platform, van VRT, dat er miljoenen bij kreeg afgelopen jaar) en ... MO*-magazine, een uiterst links-ideologisch blad van de vakbonden. De hele factcheck-industrie heeft intussen een eigen staatshervorming nodig. Aanpassing: ik zei in eerdere tweet dat https://t.co/HrIaCUWy4A mee de subsidie van 300k krijg. Dat klopt niet. CEBAM krijgt die. https://t.co/HrIaCUWy4A werkt wel samen met CEBAM in dit platform rond een soort "Fast responding factcheck team" (geen idee wat dat is, alsof mensen doodgaan wanneer er niet acuut een factcheck wordt toegediend).
