A good friend moved to a small wine village in Baden-Württemberg a few years ago, sparbuchfeinde wrote. The man is married, has a child, bought a house, and has a company car parked in front of his door. The stories from the village with 800 inhabitants surprised him: As soon as his friend's caravan is parked on the street, a neighbor calls the regulatory office. After returning from vacation, the authority appeared two hours after the caravan was parked to unpack in front of the house. Furthermore, there are already two stationary speed cameras in the village; the municipal council recently approved two more. At the same time, the winemakers have been complaining for years about too few tourists. However, a well-attended party series by one winemaker was discontinued after citizens and other winemakers complained about noise and parked cars, sparbuchfeinde wrote. #BadenWürttemberg #Weindorf #Nachbarschaft (translated)

Masian asked what the connection was between wanting to measure oneself, in October 2026, against Barça and the composition of the team during a previous match, which he believed had changed a lot since then. He presented PSG as the current best team in the world and deemed it natural for the club to want to test itself against the best, adding that he saw no issue with that. He then insulted those who criticized this position, particularly targeting the residents of the suburbs, and claimed that PSG's victories in the Champions League had made them lose touch with reality. #PSG #Barça #Football (translated)

Joan Larroumec stated that the French private pension system was also heavily in deficit, estimating its deficit at 77 billion euros. He argued that the public system's deficit reached 50 billion euros per year, masked in his view by accounting overcontributions, notably 82% for the state and 126% for the military. According to his calculations, the private system received 228 billion euros in contributions, against 300 billion euros in pensions paid, or 305 billion euros including management fees. He indicated that the gap was covered by subsidies, allocated taxes, and debt. He specifically cited 37 billion euros in levies related to the CSG and allocated taxes, 24 billion euros in reimbursements by the state for exemptions from charges, and 17 billion euros collected from family and unemployment funds. Larroumec estimated that the pay-as-you-go system should have been adjusted 25 years ago, either by lowering pensions or raising the retirement age, due to the aging population and the decrease in the number of active workers per retiree. He attributed the lack of reform to a lack of political will and opposition from the population, stating that the deficits had been financed through overcontributions in the public sector and by taxes, subsidies, and debt in the private sector. He also disputed the figures from the Retirement Orientation Council, which estimated the deficit at 5 billion euros. According to his calculations, 420 billion euros were spent each year on pensions, against 282 billion euros in contributions collected, leaving 137 billion euros to be found elsewhere in the economy. He suggested that political leaders were staying silent about the problem because retirees formed the largest electorate in France and that attempts at reform had cost some elected officials their jobs. #Retraites #France #Déficit (translated)

GeoTales described a scenario where several agricultural regions would be simultaneously affected, while dam production would decrease, trade routes would be disrupted, and populations would experience exceptional heat. It specified that the term "super El Niño" referred to an episode of about +2 °C or more in the Niño 3.4 area, without constituting a universal category comparable to that of cyclones. According to GeoTales, the bulletin published on October 8 by the World Meteorological Organization forecasted an average anomaly of about +3.7 °C in this area for the period from October to December, with a peak around December. It also reported that NOAA assessed the probability of reaching at least +2.5 °C over three months at 83% according to its RONI index, mentioning an episode likely to exceed those observed since 1950. It emphasized that the two agencies used different methods, but their figures indicated an exceptionally intense event. GeoTales explained that observations showed increased heat beneath the surface of the Pacific, a deeper thermocline, as well as anomalies in westerly winds and precipitation in the central and eastern parts of the ocean. It reminded that El Niño is a natural phenomenon and estimated that it would be too simplistic to attribute this episode solely to climate change, while adding that background warming could exacerbate its consequences. To illustrate the possible impacts, GeoTales mentioned Guatemala, citing a video published the day before by LIMIT Media. It wrote that in the "dry corridor" that also crosses Honduras and El Salvador, the lack of rain and crop losses were already undermining the food and income of families relying on maize and bean cultivation. #ElNiño #ChangementClimatique #Météo (translated)
