Good news! Putting smart technology in supermarket freezers meant that your weekly shop was £1.50 cheaper in 2022-3. Bad news! Ripping our smart technology means your weekly shop is going to be £4.50 more expensive in 2028-9!

“Restoring fiscal headroom” via a series of novel taxes (impact on growth: unknown) and spending cuts to come into effect in an election year. Yeah, really did Labour a favour, that did. 🙄

The thing also about Truss is, this is as mad as she's gone in a period in which her successors have been: 1) centre-right guy who was overwhelmed in office 2) centre left guy ditto 3) centre left guy....she is 51. She is going to go even madder when we have an effective rightwing government again.

It's impossible to imagine a Conservative leader having made better decisions over the past two years than the ones Kemi Badenoch has, apparently:

Finding some of the reaction on here to the 'stockpiling' stuff a bit odd. The Russians successfully firebombed the last prime minister's house! There was a cyberattack on a French supermarket a few weeks ago!

"London has the largest number of Neets, an estimated 117,100, or one in six of all Neets in England, said the report" - you'll never guess what the other thing that London has one in six of all the things in England is.
