Akhenaton Officiel criticized the school hours mentioned by Édouard Philippe after student complaints. He argued that the weeks from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, the numerous homework assignments, and the exams on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings deprived young people of social, cultural, and sporting lives and contributed to a tense and anxious society. He asserted that these hours did not guarantee a better academic level and that neighboring European countries outperformed France in terms of numbers, even though their classes ended at 1:30 PM. He also advocated for more resources, modern materials, and suitable facilities for teachers and students, rather than helping large companies or rearming the country to the tune of hundreds of billions. According to him, decisions regarding resources were made upstream. #éducation #société #réforme (translated)
