Federico Albano wondered if Red Bull had become the best car. He wrote that an excellent power unit and low drag were essential everywhere that season, but that the greater choices in setups had recently changed the picture. In Sepang, in his opinion, the "Max factor" had emerged. https://t.co/7Pjwz7wOa9 #F1 #Formula1 #RedBull (translated)

Federico Albano described the race in Sepang as unpredictable and credited Max Verstappen with a well-deserved victory. According to him, the updates had made the Red Bull more predictable and suited to the characteristics required this season. He added that Verstappen had made the difference in the wet and that the Red Bull pit wall had managed the strategy flawlessly, even with the last pit stop, which in his opinion was the correct choice despite the driver relinquishing the first position. Albano assessed Kimi Antonelli's performance positively, finishing second: he described him as fast and mature and wrote that he had overtaken George Russell. He predicted that he would win the title. Regarding Russell's zero points, he noted that the risk related to the decision not to change the power unit in Baku had materialized, which had ended his championship bid. He also pointed to the Mercedes updates as a technical theme to be re-evaluated starting from Singapore. The commentator described Lewis Hamilton as "phenomenal" and praised his race, while criticizing Ferrari's management. He wrote that the team had misjudged the initial tire choice and questioned the decision to put medium tires on Hamilton after his first stint on softs. In his view, the safety car had given him the chance to secure a well-deserved podium. Albano also appreciated Charles Leclerc's comeback, although he considered him less competitive than Hamilton over the weekend, and noted that the Ferraris had finished third and fourth ahead of a McLaren that he deemed to be struggling in various aspects. He finally reminded that there were seven races left until the end. #F1 #Formula1 #Sepang (translated)

Federico Albano wrote that the problem had appeared on both Ferraris, but at a certain point it was resolved for Leclerc. For Hamilton, however, it had not been possible to unlock it before the reset. He added that the Bahrain GP should now be considered closed. #BahrainGP https://t.co/fCDz51hEwQ #Formula1 #Ferrari #BahrainGP (translated)

Federico Albano wrote that, in his opinion, the wait was due to the need to define how to manage the starting order. He added that a parking phase was taking place before the start of the Bahrain GP. #BahrainGP #BahrainGP #Formula1 #Motorsport (translated)

Federico Albano described the Sepang qualifying as a test on a circuit suitable for motorsport. According to him, Max Verstappen had secured a significant pole position and Isack Hadjar finished third. He attributed the speed of the Red Bull on the straights to the low levels of aerodynamic drag and the updates, which made the car more predictable for the drivers, even though it was not optimized for every corner. Albano emphasized that low drag would remain crucial for F1 26. Regarding Ferrari, Albano wrote that the car was the most competitive in corners, but lost a lot on the straights due to poor power. He rated Lewis Hamilton's lap as exceptional, especially in the middle sector: in those fast corners, he noted, the Brit gained 0.4 seconds on Charles Leclerc. He called Hamilton's car balance perfect and the lap, in his opinion, the best the driver had done since arriving in Maranello. Leclerc, on the other hand, overloaded the front end and suffered from tire overheating midway through the lap. Albano said it remained to be seen if during the race the thermal load would shift towards the front, helping the Monegasque. Albano pointed out Mercedes as the main technical case of the day. The updates would have increased downforce and improved the W17's behavior in fast corners, but would have weakened the front end too much, penalizing the car in slow corners or making it oversteer with more extreme setups. He also argued that the increase in aerodynamic drag had complicated energy management, causing a change in deployment strategy midway through Q2. In the race, he predicted that Kimi would be in the fight, but felt that for now the updates had shifted the balance more than produced a step forward. As for McLaren, Albano considered it not very competitive on a dry lap, lacking particular effectiveness in any type of corner and with marked time losses in braking. Looking ahead to the race, Albano indicated Verstappen as the favorite, predicting very high degradation, two pit stops, and different tire compounds available to the leading drivers. He also expected Hamilton to be aggressive from the start. He concluded by saying he was eager to follow a race he believed would be interesting from a technical standpoint. #F1 #Motorsport #Qualifica (translated)

Federico Albano wrote that, despite Verstappen's extraordinary pole, in his opinion the best lap was Hamilton's. He praised Lewis's performance and the SF26 in all corners, both slow and fast, but pointed out difficulties on the straight, where he believed the Red Bull was very fast. He added that the Mercedes appeared unbalanced and had more aerodynamic drag in the new package, and said that the situation needed to be analyzed more calmly. #BahrainGP #Sepang #Formula1 #F1 #Motorsport (translated)

Federico Albano had written that the Red Bull seemed very fast on the straights. According to his analysis, the Mercedes was quick in fast corners but less effective in slow corners and under braking, while the Ferrari performed well in corners but struggled on the straights. He added that he would watch the Q3 of the BahrainGP. #BahrainGP #Sepang https://t.co/JmiU6jFd6s #F1 #BahrainGP #Ferrari (translated)

Federico Albano commented on the FP3 data in Sepang, stating that Antonelli appeared fast and that, in his last attempt, he had increased power, with visible effects on traction. After some understeer and oversteer difficulties, according to Albano, Mercedes had found a good setup; he also judged the car impressive in the fast section of the second sector, attributing the improvement to aerodynamic updates. Albano indicated Red Bull as Mercedes' main rival: in his opinion, the car was strong on the straights and in the fast sections, maintaining a good compromise even in slow corners, although it was not optimized for all turns. Regarding Ferrari, he wrote that it was difficult to evaluate, but it seemed more stable compared to the previous day, with a more solid rear and good balance between the axles. However, he noted weak performance in acceleration and in the fast sections, as well as a lot of harvesting at corner 10. According to Albano, the engine was still significantly downpowered; it remained to be seen how much power could be increased without overheating the rear tires and how much the team had sacrificed qualifying for race pace. Alonso added that McLaren was also difficult to interpret: it had shown good time attack with medium tires but then failed to lower the time. Albano wondered if the team would increase power in qualifying, as in previous races. He concluded that the fight for the front row could involve several drivers and that, in his opinion, the track and tire conditions could widen the gaps without providing decisive indications about the race. #Formula1 #GP #Motorsport (translated)

Federico Albano described the second free practice session of the BahrainGP in Sepang as difficult to interpret. According to him, the teams quickly focused their work on long runs due to the risk of rain and because, considering the overtaking chances and tire degradation, race pace would be more important than qualifying. Albano judged Ferrari's Friday as positive: compared to the first session, the setup had improved and the team showed encouraging signs in managing degradation. However, he noted difficulties at the rear end. In his opinion, Leclerc managed to handle them well and achieved good feedback both in dry running and in the race simulation, while Hamilton struggled more with temperature control. The author wrote that Red Bull appeared competitive in dry running with Hadjar and in race pace with Verstappen, but faced difficulties in slow corners. Mercedes, despite not completing a dry lap with both drivers, highlighted a race pace on par or slightly lower than that of Verstappen and Leclerc. Albano therefore expected a close fight between at least these three teams. According to his report, McLaren fell behind in dry running but showed good race pace and effective tire durability management. Albano concluded that setups and conditions remained to be evaluated, with looming rain and a race that, in his opinion, could change with each stint. #F1 #BahrainGP #Motorsport (translated)

#FP1 at #Sepang: - #RedBull started very well, somewhat surprisingly given the layout of the track. Great balance both on the dry lap and in long runs, the latest upgrades seem to have brought benefits, let's see if they can keep up because they started strong. - #Mercedes has issues with Kimi, and still seems conservative with #Russell on the PU side. Russell has a lot of traction but little top speed, it's worth understanding if it's just power or if there's also drag due to increased downforce. Bad long run for Mercedes with very high wear. - #Ferrari seems out of the window, more loaded than the others, convincing only in braking and in slow corners. Better in the long run, the mechanics seem to be there, the aerodynamics for now really need fixing. - #McLaren insubstantial in the dry lap but remarkably excellent on tire degradation in long runs. - To say the track is evolving doesn't capture the essence, temperatures are sky-high, old asphalt, abrasive, and very dirty. We'll see everyone improve by several seconds per lap, so this session is more about returning to a beautiful track and understanding starting points than deducing anything about final results that are still very far off. Let's see FP2. #Formula1 #Motorsport #GP (translated)

Trend of the times in the long run sim. The difficulty of #Mercedes is evident. Great for #RedBull and #McLaren. #Ferrari starts well, then rises in the second half of the stint amid traffic and some difficulties #BahrainGP #BahrainGP https://t.co/rEwRtp1XUC #F1 #BahrainGP #Formula1 (translated)

#F1 #AzerbaijanGP #Motorsport

in #FP3 arriva #Verstappen.

#F1 #AzerbaijanGP #FP2
