JOINT OPERATION BETWEEN NATIONAL POLICE AND NORTH AMERICAN TROOPS LEADERS, FINANCIERS, AND A COMPLETE NARCOTRAFFICKING STRUCTURE THAT HAD DIRECT LINKS TO THE JALISCO NEW GENERATION CARTEL FELL EARLY THIS MORNING IN THREE PROVINCES. The operation was carried out this morning by the National Police in conjunction with North American troops and the DEA, resulting in more than 30 people detained in Guayaquil, Daule, Samborondón, Ventanas, Babahoyo, Puebloviejo, Vinces, and Machala. This organization has no links to local gangs. It had direct relations with the CJNG. The investigation took about eight months. The structure was engaged in the collection, intermediation, distribution, transportation, and marketing of large quantities of drugs originating from Colombia, which were intended to be sent by sea from the ports of Guayaquil and Machala to Central America, the United States, and Europe. To reach this structure, there has been an impact of USD 322 million over the course of this year from all the seized drug shipments. More than 320 members of the National Police and 50 members of the Southern Command were part of this operation. The operation continues to develop. (translated)
