This was stated by the founder of Amazon and the space company Blue Origin, Jeff Bezos. "This time we are going to the Moon to stay, and we will do it at lower costs," Bezos said yesterday to Fox News. It will not just be another mission after which we return home. It will be a real, sustainable lunar base from which we can explore the Moon and discover interesting things. Bezos compared today's commercial space flights to the lunar program of 1969 and reminded that nearly three percent of the then American GDP was needed for that first endeavor. He emphasized that establishing a system for regular cargo delivery remains a key prerequisite for landing astronauts. There are every reason to believe that we will be able to send people to the Moon by 2028. Bezos specifically highlighted the strategic competition with China and stated that Washington must be faster than Beijing. We must beat China in the return to the Moon. I believe we will succeed in that. Working on the Moon's surface requires 28 times less energy to lift cargo due to lower gravity, and the Moon also offers an abundance of local resources. Bezos briefly reflected on artificial intelligence and advocated for targeted limitations instead of strict regulation of fundamental models. #Mjesec #NASA #JeffBezos (translated)
