Miriam González stated that Dr. Paloma Cejas's laboratory at Dana-Farber in Boston had analyzed her liver and bone metastases cell by cell using a technique called single-cell. She explained that, unlike the usual analysis of a whole biopsy, this method allows for the separate study of thousands of cells and the comparison of their active genes. According to González, the test is not usually requested in consultations and is typically conducted in research projects. Flex, a technology from 10x Genomics that can analyze tissue preserved in paraffin, was employed. She added that the study could help identify targets for a potential personalized vaccine and that the next step would be to sequence the entire exome and compare it with her healthy DNA. González thanked those who had supported her with donations, which, she said, financed the Zurich biopsy from which the analyzed bone tissue came and the shipments to Boston. She also noted that sharing her story had contributed to reaching further. #InvestigaciónMédica #Cáncer #Biopsia (translated)
