The question is clear: they want to ignore those who are already caring for their babies on January 1st. One child is worth no more than another," said Felicidade Vital, a deputy from Chega, referring to the proposal put forward by her party before the voting, which aimed to include a transitional provision in the decree-law that defines and regulates parental protection so that the extension of the initial parental leave would apply to the leaves that had already started by the date when this law comes into effect, set for January 1, 2027. #LicençaParental #Trabalho #DireitosDasCrianças (translated)

Renato Souza reported that, upon leaving a TV station in 2023, he received seven job offers. One of them came from a consulting firm whose partner, according to what he later discovered, had worked as a lobbyist for a company with financial ties to Banco Master. The consulting firm mentioned a major client and a contract still pending signature, but did not reveal who it was; Souza said he even thought it might be Banco do Brasil. The position would involve monitoring legal processes, uncovering background information, and anticipating decisions based on the analysis of the legal landscape for major clients. Souza stated that he found it strange that he would not be writing articles, but would be sending information and maintaining contact with sources. The conversation ended in the first meeting. Days later, he declined the invitation without knowing the salary or the conditions and chose another offer, one of the few on a CLT contract, for stability and predictability. Souza remarked that Brasília, despite having 3 million inhabitants, seemed to him marked by closed cycles. He said he chose journalism at the age of 10 and did not enter the profession for the money, although he considered it important for excellent work to be well compensated. For him, pursuing that dream could also bring the certainty of doing the right thing. #jornalismo #carreira #Brasília (translated)
